Our mission is to improve the world one child at a time – right here in the communities of Basehor and Linwood. We do that by assessing our local needs and supporting initiatives that benefit our local kids.

Kiwanis International was founded in 1915 in Detroit, Michigan. Although it was originally created as a business networking club, it changed focus in 1919 to provide support to children. Over the years, the club has grown and spread to many towns in the US and 70+ other nations and geographic locations that have active chapters.

The Basehor-Linwood Kiwanis Club was founded in January 2024. Local residents noticed opportunities where we can help provide support to children and officially formed with the help of the well-established Leavenworth and Lansing clubs. The best way to make our community better is to be the catalyst for change, so what started as a group of strangers is becoming a group of friends, and we are working together to build a strong foundation to support local children for years to come.
